that I could handle it…that everything was okay. My life was controlled by drugs. One day, I hit rock bottom. I felt utterly hopeless and I knew I had to make a change."

Spectrum’s detoxification programs provide 24-hour medical supervision and compassionate nursing care to ensure safe withdrawal from alcohol, opioids and other substances. Medications are used to suppress withdrawal symptoms and make clients as comfortable as possible during detoxification. During this time, we work with each client to prepare them for the next step in the recovery process. Because addiction is a chronic disease, most individuals benefit from continued treatment to learn how to live drug-free and sustain their recovery over time.

Spectrum's outpatient counseling program serves adults and adolescents with substance abuse and/or mental health issues at various stages of recovery. Upon admission, a comprehensive intake evaluation is completed and used to develop an individualized treatment plan for each client. Based upon this plan, services are provided to address individual needs and teach clients the skills needed for recovery. We also work closely with family members, educating them about addiction and supporting their involvement in the recovery process, as appropriate.

Spectrum offers a family education forum to family and friends of individuals in recovery. The family education forum teaches family and friends about medication-assisted treatment, the signs and symptoms of an overdose, how to respond to an overdose and where to purchase naloxone. The family education forum also offers family support and answers questions regarding addiction, treatment and available community resources. Click here for a schedule of family education forums.
In addition, Spectrum's outpatient treatment centers provide a range of mental health services, including clinical assessment, treatment planning, counseling, and medication management.

Spectrum also offers an intensive outpatient treatment program at select locations. This more intensive program involves two group and one brief individual session each day, in addition to family groups and more in depth individual sessions on a weekly basis. The duration of the program is a minimum of three weeks.
